What are seamless Gutters?

Answer

Seamless gutters, also known as continuous gutters, are manufactured from a single piece of aluminum material created onsite at your home or business. This material is fed through a gutter machine about 12 feet long, forming the gutter as it passes through. At the other end, the gutter comes out formed and run out to the desired length that fits your home for a perfect fit. This eliminates unnecessary seams. Regular premade gutters come in 10-foot lengths that need to be joined together. That process most certainly will result in leaks at every seam/overlap. Seamless gutters do not have this issue as they are continuous lengths for each section avoiding the need for 10-foot lengths joining together.

Are there seams in continuous gutters?

Answer

Yes, only at the corners where the straight sections meet up with another section that goes around a corner or side of the home. Unfortunately, the technology does not currently exist for the gutter machines to form the gutter around corners. At each corner the gutter needs to be joined together using a proven practice and trained skill along with a quality application of gutter seal.

What styles are available?

Answer

We offer 5-inch gutters, the most commonly used throughout the Okanagan. Our style is called 5-inch Fascia style, which means our gutters are deeper, allowing more water volume to drain the water away. Currently, we offer 3 profile styles, this is the design that faces the yard, some styles are more appealing to modern homes, some for heritage homes etc. They are the same size, just slightly different design for your personal design taste to best suit your home. There are other sizes available, like the 6-inch gutter that is used on some larger commercial buildings, but not so common on residential. The older styles are 4-inch K style, smaller gutters that are commonly replaced as they are not very efficient.

What colours are available?

What is your warranty?

Answer

Are the gutters delivered or made onsite?

Answer

Our Gutters are always custom-made onsite to the exact length required. Our top-of-the-line high-tech gutter machines feed aluminum gutter coils through the 12-foot machine and then formed out the other end, the gutter comes out to the length desired. At this point, the gutters are cut to length, hangers installed, and then fastened to the fascia boards on your home for a perfect fit.

What if I have a long section of gutter, will this be one piece?

Answer

Although the gutters can be created at any length, it's not recommended to go longer than 50 feet, sometimes 60 feet depending on the colour. This is due to the heat attracted to the aluminum causing expansion that can cause buckling. To avoid this, in the industry, we call this an expansion joint, which is two sections that come together with a small gap between them to allow for expansion, avoiding buckling. For example, if you have a 70-foot section of gutter, the industry standard would be to create two 35-foot sections, this will prevent the aluminum from expanding to the point where it buckles causing damage that requires replacement. Lighter colours are more forgiving as they reflect the heat, darker colours attract the heat and are more at risk for these longer sections of gutters without an expansion joint.

How often should I have the gutters cleaned?

Answer

This depends on the area around your home, gutters should be cleaned at least once a year, or inspected. Even if there are no trees, the gutters still accumulate roof debris such as leaves blown from afar, or shingle debris that shreds over time and end up in the gutters that build up which can restrict the water flow. If there are trees overhead then we recommend 2 times a year, or as needed. Once in the spring when the snow melts and again late fall after all the leaves have fallen. This process keeps your gutters clear of debris that restricts and plugs the gutters.

Do I need gutter guard leaf protection on my gutters?

Answer

Gutter guards and leaf protection systems are designed to prevent debris, such as leaves, twigs, and pine needles, from clogging your gutters. Whether or not you should consider installing them depends on the types of trees and foliage around your property. If you have many overhanging trees or experience frequent clogs, gutter guards can be a valuable investment. We offer our Alu-Rex leaf guard systems, made with commercial aluminum and come with a lifetime clog-free warranty guarantee. There are two types, one for new gutter systems, this style acts as a continuous hanger system, ideal for added strength and snow load resistance as well as keeps your gutters clear of debris. This system also prevents the water from freezing inside the gutters. The other style is for existing gutters, same product but attaches differently, does not act as a continuous hanger, but still keeps your gutters clear of debris and comes with a lifetime clog-free guarantee.

What materials are the gutters made from?

Answer

Made from aluminum, gutters are created from a large aluminum coil, about 500 feet, and run through a gutter machine to the desired length required. These gutters are lightweight, durable, and rust-resistant. They are a popular choice for residential properties due to their affordability and ease of maintenance. There are over 30 colours to choose from, all gutters are prefinished baked enamel finish. The colour is durable and paint maintenance-free.

How long do gutters typically last for?

Answer
